When starting or becoming something different, just do it... persist and keep building the new muscle memory or habit, and watch the magic begin to unfold... This Horsemanship Camp at The Horse Ranch builds on what you've learned in Stage 1 and includes Stage 2 where you are improving the skills you have learned. You will be learning new rein positions and exercises in the saddle. You will learn one-rein riding techniques and begin creating your independent seat. Stage 2 includes: Improving ground skills Handling the feet One-rein riding Indirect, direct and supporting reins Rail exercises "As you progress, you enter into higher Stages in the program. This is where the fun begins! Learning to work with our horse at liberty shows you where your relationship is with your horse and helps refine your ground communication skills. In this Horsemanship Intensive, we will focus on Stage 3 and higher in Glenn’s Stages Program. During these 8 days, you will deepen your savvy and horsemanship learning a variety of advanced exercises. You will develop the emotional fitness for both horse and rider building upon mutual understanding and responsibilities. Highlights include: • Identifying the 7 elements • Refining requests from the saddle • Riding from the waist down • Impulsion exercises • Advanced vertical flexion • Improving turns on the haunches • Responsive hind quarter yields • Fluid sideways movement • Mounting bareback The confidence and respect you will develop when completing the Horsemanship Intensive will give you clear measurable results. This rugged location is home to one of few free-range horse herds in North America. The trip is the ultimate horsemanship experience in a private setting high up in the mountains.Take your horsemanship to a new level under Glenn Stewart's guidance. You will work with study mountain bred horses in some of the most beautiful country you will ever see. The location, the environment and horses will have you swimming in adventure and horsemanship learning opportunities! Participants from all over the world come together to share in this annual experience, an opportunity to put the horsemanship principles to purpose with true mountain bred horses in a magnificent wilderness setting. The adventure begins when you arrive at The Horse Ranch, Glenn's home base in Baldonnel (Fort St John) British Columbia. His 160 acre ranch is located just off the world famous Alaska Highway and just 20 minutes from the regional Fort St John airport (airport code: YXJ) with flights multiple flights in from Vancouver and Calgary/Edmonton daily. You'll be driven from the Ranch to Fort Nelson where you'll board a River Boat, and 3 hours later, step ashore where the lodge is located. Included: Return transportation (by truck/car and River Boat) from The Horse Ranch to the lodge, accommodations at the lodge, all meals and the horses!
