Working Student and Horseman's Apprentice Positions Available

The Horse Ranch is looking for someone to be a part of a positive, progressive, and energetic environment.   Successful applicant will assist with a variety of tasks in exchange for participation in Horsemanship camps/lessons, assessments, and use of horsemanship facilities. Ideal applicant will have their own transportation, accommodation, and personal horse; however Ranch accommodation and lease horse may be provided.  Successful Applicant must possess good written and verbal English language communication skills, have the ability to work independently, be mature and self motivated, and are a minimum of 18 years of age.

Preference will be given to those with experience in Glenn’s Stages Program, and who are strongly motivated to become an apprentice in the Horse Development Program, learning what it takes to have a successful long-term career with horses.   The ideal applicant will have experience in the following areas:

• Horse Development, Colt Starting
• Farrier work, trimming & shoeing
• Hooking up and hauling a gooseneck horse trailer
• Running a tractor, skidster, power saw, welding torch and posthole pounder


• Photography, Videography, Journalism, Marketing, Event Planning
• Experience in web or graphic design, Drupal, Photoshop, InDesign, Final Cut Pro, Imovie, Itunes Libraries, Simply Accounting
• Experience in Event Planning, preparation & implementation, (Tournaments, Open Houses, Demonstrations, Trade Shows, BBQ’s & Competitions)

Skills and experience in some or all of following areas is an asset: 

• Generalized horse duties such as cleaning pens, bathing and grooming, catching and turning out
• Pasture maintenance such as piling and burning brush, weed control, checking and repairing fences.
• General and basic office/computer skills
• Cleaning (tacksheds, cabins, outbuildings, vehicles, washing windows & walls, sweeping and mopping decks, garage)
• Ironing/Organizing
• Shipping/Receiving
• Gardening, Yard and Lawn care
• Sales & Merchandising
• Painting (fences, floors, sheds, etc)
• Cleaning Tack
• Help with BBQ’s
• Welcoming students and assisting with parking, pen assignments, etc.
• Shopping, driving, banking, shipping, picking clients up from airport
