Road To The Horse 2012 - A Video Review Evening with Glenn Stewart on the World Championship of Colt Starting, August 27th 7-10 pm Lido Theatre, Fort St. John BC

Join Glenn Stewart for a behind-the-scenes video review of the World Championship of Colt Starting, The 2012 Road To The Horse competition, held this past March in Murfreesboro, TN.  Glenn and his friend and fellow horseman Jonathan Field teamed up to represent Canada in this one of a kind Colt Starting competition, in which 6 participants have a just a few short hours to prepare unstarted horses to compete under saddle in a series of railwork, obstacle course, and freestyle, in front of a crowd of over 6000 cheering horse enthusiasts and a panel of judges.  Edge of your seat excitement and plenty to learn as you watch and hear Glenns highlights and insights to the horses and how it all plays out.

Join us for this Celebration of Horsemanship, an interesting and educational evening of big screen entertainment, with special commentary from Glenn on behind the scenes action and interpretation to this World Championship of Colt Starting, and take home useful tips and techniques to apply to your own horsemanship or just sit back enjoy what you see and hear.

Extreme Horsemanship Canada Competition, September 15 & 16th, The Horse Ranch, 22 KM East of Fort St John, BC

We are excited to announce our annual Extreme Horsemanship Competition at The Horse Ranch, 22 km East of Fort St. John, BC.  This year will be more exciting than ever with a two day competition format.  Both days will open at 10:00 am with Glenn Stewart presenting Horsemanship Demonstrations & Educational Seminars.

Following Glenns Saturday morning presentations, there will be competition placement runs on the course to have fun, test your skills, build your horsemanship and find out which division, Novice or Open, that your scores place you in.

Join us Saturday night for the Great Chili Cookoff and potluck dinner!

Sunday morning, the second day, will begin with more presentations and Horsemanship demonstrations followed by the final competition.  There will be catagories with buckles for first place, and prizes awarded for first, second and third places.

Extreme Horsemanship or  Extreme Cowboy Racing is one of the fastest growing equine sports in North America.  It encompasses at bit of all disciplines, Ranch work, Dressage, Reining, Jumping, and showcases great horsemanship.

Please Note:  We are only accepting a maximum of 20 riders

  • Contest for the best Chili Saturday night - bring your chili in a crockpot and join us for the potluck, fire, and some guitar playing.  
  • Free Spectators welcome, come and cheer on the riders!  Please bring your lawnchairs.
  • No dogs please.

  • Second Horse $250
  • Campers welcome, free camping without power, please call to preregister for pens, cabins, or camping spots in advance as space is limited.  If you would like to arrive Friday night, just let us know.
  • Pen Fee $15 per horse per night - please bring your own feed, buckets, and please clean your own pen.
  • Camping spot with power $20 per night.
  • Cabin Tent $25, Big Cabin $35, per night, per person.
