Horse Development Program, Sacramento, CA

Glenn Stewart is headed to the Silverhorne Sporthorse Ranch in Sacramento CA, where he will be implementing his Horse Development Program with offspring  from one of the USA's leading Hanoverian stallions, Sir Caletto.

Imported from Germany by Silverhorne Sporthorse in 2002 from the Paul Schokemohle Stallion Station in Oldenburg, Germany, Sir Caletto is reproducing his own jump through his progeny.  The mare Sylvia by Sir Caletto, shown above, is out of the very pre-potent jumper bloodline Servus.  A Servus grandson, Staccato, was named Hanoverian Stallion of the Year in 2007 and is this mare's direct blood uncle through her granddam, Susie, who produced her last foal at Silverhorne at 25 years of age in 2009.

By way of interest, Sir Caletto's past owner, Paul Schokemohle,  recently purchased top dressage horse, Totilas.  Totilas was recently ridden to three gold medals at the World Equestrian Games (WEG) in Kentucky.  Totilas has broken every world record score for a grand prix, special and freestyle in the past twelve months, rewriting dressage history time and again.  Totilas was rumoured to have sold for 14 million Euros, roughly 19.6 million Canadian.

Sir Caletto shown here with American Grand Prix Rider Hap Hansen winning in the Regular Working Hunter Division at Indio California.

Loaded with saddle, ropes, and patience to spare, Glenn successfully neogotiated his way through US Customs (now theres a story!)and grabbed an earlier flight.  It is in the scorching 90's there, and he is looking forward to connecting with  old and new friends, and to get aquainted with the 80+ herd of Hanoverians,  45 of which will be under development.  Glenn will to come to know these horses very well as he implements his Natural Horsemanship Horse Development Program over the next two years, something that Silverhorne will continue on with.  Silverhorne Sporthorse Ranch is one of the largest and most progressive breeding farms in the US, and Glenn is excited to be part of its future.

"Warmbloods do very well in the western this is California, and everyone relies on a great start for the babies, oftentimes by a capable cowboy...for Silverhorne not just any cowboy would do...this is Calgary Stampede Extreme Cowboy Champion Glenn Stewart restarting horses for my young horse program at Silverhorne Sporthorse in sunny California.

Here is Glenn with Sharlotte York, a 2005 Hanoverian mare by Sir Caletto x Princess Phoebe... Glenn is putting a strong foundation on the mare, who was previously colt started but had been turned back out for 12 months with 9 others from her age group......she is smart and athletic as you can see by the look at Glenn's face...breathe breathe breathe...Glenn is a fantastic educator for the young horse because he understands how to ask them to move their bodies in anticipation of a career that will require them to be flexible and light on the aides...Glenn has the touch and the horses love the time with him!!  We look forward to many years of collaboration."
